CEO Class Showcases Local Talent

The audience selected dazzling dancer Trevor Toberman, a student at Hillsboro High School, as the top talent at "MoCo's got Talent," an event produced by the 13 students in the 2019 Montgomery CEO class on Saturday, March 2, in the Hillsboro High School gym.

Toberman, who finished first based on text voting by the nearly 400 members of the audience, earned a $500 prize for his talent for his stunning dance moves to "Bury a Friend" by Billie Eilish.

Runner-up was "Empty Handed," the worship team from First Baptist Church in Nokomis, and the third finalist was Hillsboro High School teacher Donald Cruse, who sang "His Cheeseburger" from the children's Veggie Tales program.

Also performing were Reagen Wilson who sang "All I Ask" by Adele, Julie Brandtner who played viola and sang "Never Enough" from "The Greatest Showman," the Purple Woman Group who provided a visual display of human behavior, Meghan Shipley who sang Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here" while accompanied by Chuck McNew on guitar, the Raffetys who sang "Come What May" from "Moulin Rouge," and Tyler Kohrs who played keyboard and sang "In Case You Didn't Know" by Brett Young.

Helping the audience evaluate each act were celebrity judges Kurt Aumann, Amy Patton, Kenny Ryker and Christian Mizera.   The show also featured an entr'acte performance by Hillsboro High School teacher Jason Burke, reprising his role from last year's CEO show as Saturday Night Live motivational speaker Matt Foley, and a closing ventriloquist act by CEO facilitator Dr. Ryan Follis and team member Gavin Long.   CEO member Rebekah Follis was master of ceremonies.   Also on the CEO team were Logan Altenberger, Jordan Gregg, Blayze Horn, Drew Johnson, Layne Johnson, Brandon Keiser, Landen Malloy, Kaylee Putnam, Aubry Rupert, Chris Satterlee and Sarah Schoenherr.

Paul Watson won the big screen TV raffle.

Silver sponsors for the event were Litchfield National Bank, Nathan Clementz with Country Financial, The Dressing Room, Alpha Candles and Hillsboro Area Hospital.   Bronze sponsors were Bruce Webb Insurance Agency, Creative Flair, Andy's Body Shop, The Depot, Farmersville Bank & Trust Co., Paris Frozen Foods and Nokomis Savings Bank.
